Your log in should be in your reading diary. If you have lost it please let your class teacher know.
Week commencing 6th November 2023.
This week in maths we have been looking at the column method of subtraction. We have found this a little challenging so I have attached a video modelling the method we use in school.
Week commencing 30/10/23
This week we have been continuing to explore addition using the column method. In particular we have been learning to cross 100!
Please choose at least one star to complete. The tasks get progressively harder in order.
This week you are going to spend some time recapping our learning for this week - using column addition. Remember to add the ones first and then move on to the tens and then hundreds (if there are any). If you have any exchanges, remember to put them underneath and the next column they need to go in and then add them once you move onto adding the next part.
This week you are going to revisit the times table activity below. Can you complete more questions in the same amount of time? Spend no more than 15 minutes.
Start by watching the video below.
Below are three challenges these get a little bit more challenging depending on the colour you choose.
Red- This would be perfect if you found counting in 50's hard in class.
Blue- This is our target level
Gold- If you want to challenge yourself.
Spend a maximum of 15 minutes revisiting the times tables below.
To make this challenge easier create two digit numbers, to challenge your self create four digit numbers.
I can't wait until to see how quickly you can do it. Please play the game at least three times.
You can download number cards below but it will be much easier to make your own!
Below you will find three challenges that get more difficult. Try to aim for the 2 star challenge but some you you may need to complete the one start challenge if this is too tricky. Some of you need to complete the 3 star challenge for something more difficult.
In your books create a poster using number words from 1- 20. You can use different colours and even attempt fancy writing if you like! See if you can spell any of the numbers without looking or any help!
Look at the images below. In your books create tables where you must read the clues and show the number in words and numerals. You only need to show the numerals and number in words in your book.
Ask a parent to give you at least ten four-digit numbers. In your books I want you to write these numbers in numerals (2,3,4,5,6 etc) and number words.
