Literacy:
This week in literacy the children have started to read new texts. Year 1 have been reading Zog and the Flying Doctors and Year 2 have been reading a non fiction text about The Greta Fire of London. Year1 have been writing setting descriptions this week using lots of lovely descriptive language. Year 2 have been retrieving information from the text and have begun thier research about the Greta Fire of London in preparation for report writing.
Mathematics:
The children have been busy this week looking at new maths topics. Year 1 have started looking at time and thinking about the language we use to order different events in time. Year 2 have been sorting, counting and comparing different amounts of money using coins and notes.
Foundation:
This week both Year 1 and Year2 have started their Science topic and have been looking at everyday materials and their properties. The children have enjoyed investigating the properties of different materials.
