Yesterday you edited a sample newspaper report. Today, I would like you to use the success criteria to edit your own newspaper report. If you have been following the home learning, most of you will have a newspaper report ready at home to edit. If you don't have one to edit, please use the sample newspaper report beneath to copy out and edit. You will need to add some newspaper report features which are missing.

It is reported that about twenty minutes past five yesterday the first robbery began at Malibu Coffee House. A black figure (thought to be Spiderman) was spotted scaring people by throwing an entire police car towards them. It is believed that Spiderman had prevented the car from hitting other people.

Afterwards, 'Spiderman' was seen swinging from building to building, whilst police tried to get the people on the street to safety. Spiderman had meanwhile caught up with the couple of car thieves and threw them out of the stolen Mercedes. He reportedly stuck the thieves to a lamp post and drove the Mercedes to his home, location unknown.

Numeracy

Today your learning objective is to be able to count in powers of 10. Below is a video explaining what powers of 10 are and how we count in them. I suggest you make notes as you watch the video, as some of the information you may be unfamiliar with. Once you have watched the video, please try the attached worksheet with the answers on the final page. These may take you a while to work through, so get as far as you can in your allotted Maths time. If you have time afterwards and fancy an extra challenge, have a go at the extension challenge attached.

It is hard to believe that we are still only in our first month of 2021. Although we currently hear quite a lot of news that is sad, I would like you to take the time to think positively about yourself and your hopes for this year. You can complete the worksheet attached, or make a poster of your own.
