Literacy
This week in Literacy we made jam sandwiches! This meant that the children could then write their own instructions explaining how to make a jam sandwich. They were able to to use imperative (bossy) verbs and time connectives to write instructions which also included a list of what you would need.
Maths
This week in maths we have been learning about fractions.
We have been exploring the language of whole and half, and identify and making half of shapes and amounts.
We have also explored the different ways that half of a shape and amount can be shown.
Foundation
In the afternoons, we have been focussing on Design and Technology. We have been looking at wheels and axels, and have been examining how these help a trolley to move. We have then been designing our own new trolleys for Percy the Park Keeper, labelling our designs and thinking of the equipment we will use to make them. Next week, we will use our plans to help us make our trolleys. We hope Percy will like them!
