This week has been an exciting first for the class- this was the first week they got to use their Independent books! These are what they use for longer pieces of writing over a few days. The children have really risen to the challenge this week with their own versions of Voices in the Park ( Voices in the Playground), and have started to sharpen their writing skills.
I thought I'd share some of their display work based around this book, because they really enjoyed it!
In maths we have focused on addition and subtraction, and the children have proven they have a very secure idea of the methods involved. I look forward to them having an equally secure ideas of division next week (!).
We learnt about Egyptian geography in topic- we looked at the importance of the Nile to the country, as well as the climate... and became weather reporters in the process!
