WB 28.06.21

Here we are in July, and we are quickly hurtling towards the end of the year!

This week has been very busy; not only have we had our mini 'bubble' Sports Day today, but we have also been finding out about Pride Month and how this reminds us to celebrate our uniqueness and difference.

In Literacy, we have been using the story maps we created last week to help us write our own 'Handa' inspired versions of Little Red Riding Hood! We worked hard to use our phonic knowledge, accurate punctuation and exciting vocabulary, and Mrs Biggs was really pleased with our work.

In Maths, we started the week by recapping on position and direction, and in particular whole, half, quarter and three-quarter turns, both clockwise and anti-clockwise. Towards the end of the week we moved on to addition and subtraction, and used the skills we have developed over the year to solve word problems.

The afternoons have been a mixed bag, with us continuing our work about the Wright Brothers and the history of flight... but also finding out about Pride Month, which is held in June each year. Mrs Johnson was extremely impressed with how we approached the topic, and also about the inclusive, thoughtful and kind young people we are becoming.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Fingers crossed for some sun!

Our mini Sports Day - including relaxing afterwards!

More of this week's WONDERFUL learning!
