Today we are going to compare angles. We are introducing two new words today.

Acute angles and obtuse angles.

 

Acute angles are angles that are smaller than an right angle. This means the space between the two lines of the angle is smaller than that of a right angle.

 

Obtuse angles are angles that are greater than a right angle. this means that the space between the two line is greater or more that that of a right angle.

Can you work out the type of angles being shown in these pictures? Which group are acute? Which group are obtuse?

Using your right angle checker from yesterday, find items that have an acute angle and items that have obtuse angles.

 

Maybe you will find an object with more than one type of angle!

 

Make a list of items you find and try drawing them accurately!
