28.2.22

This week we have been continuing with our challenges to help Percy and the animals. We have used the skills we learned last week and decided to create nests for owl in our forest school session.  We have been writing captions about what we see in the outdoor area and also have written our diaries.

In maths we have been ordering numbers to 10 and then identifying numerals that are missing.  We have worked hard on explaining what numeral we thought was missing and why.

We have worked on a phonic challenge using 'pick a picture' on phonics play.  We had to blend sounds together to read a word and then match it to the correct picture!  We have aimed high and challenged ourselves with this - even reading words such as rabbit and jacket!

We have been exploring colour further this week and looking at what happens when you mix primary colours - this then makes a secondary colour - did you know that if you mix red and yellow you get orange?  Ask us what other colours we made.

Finally we have been helping rabbit.  He has a toothache and wanted our help - we have read a story called the selfish crocodile and learned a new song.  The links for these are on the home link page below.

We then developed our understanding of brushing our teeth in our fine motor activity area by cleaning with toothbrushes!

What a busy week!
