Welcome back Cherry class. I hope you all had a restful half term.
It has been lovely to be back with you all this week, and continue our year 1 journey.
This week in our maths we have been really challenging ourselves with our number knowledge by beginning to learn to read, write and order numbers up to 59. We have been using the 100 square to notice patterns in numbers, thinking of tips to help us read them, and how we can try and find, and identify, numbers on a number square.
In our literacy work we have continued to support Beegu, in her learning and understanding on Earth. We have been learning about commands, and ‘bossy verbs’. We wrote commands to help Beegu learn about the rules and expectations in school. We have also been looking at adding the suffix ‘ing’ to adjectives to describe all the different sounds that Beegu would hear, here on Earth.
Well done on a fabulous first week back. Make sure you look at this week’s homework challenges and send me photos of your work. Remember to read you home reading books with your families, and bring them back in on your reading day to be changed.
