Reading

As always, carry on with reading 5 days a week for 20 minutes a day. And remember- try to read aloud to someone at home at least once or twice a week as part of that!

Maths

It's time for the Ultimate fractions, decimals and percentages challenge! There aren't three stars this week. I just want you to do as much as you can. Then, give yourself a mark out of 48!

English

Thank you to those children that sent in their descriptive paragraphs. I was delighted at the general quality that you produced, and they were a pleasure to read.

With our work on 'The Promise', as you are aware our focus is the descriptive language. We have also looked at haikus this week, which are those short poems about nature. For your work, I would like you to write 4 haikus, one for each of the 4 seasons- Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer.

The focus needs to be your use of language. I won't be impressed with something like this:

Ice-cream is so nice

I wear sun cream on my back

Summer is awesome

However, I would like something like this:

Smiling warmth beams down

Merry souls grin gleefully

Ice-cream- Come to me!
