Our work this week...
It has been really pleasing to see how well the children have returned from their holiday. They have settled back into the routine of the school day and appear eager to learn and motivated to do well. There have been some excellent Accelerated Reader quiz results that we have talked about in class. Please do encourage your child to read at home and ask them to share their quiz results with you.
In literacy this week, we have been focusing on spelling, punctuation and grammar. In particular, we have used the dictionaries and practised using apostrophes correctly. We have also looked at editing and improving sentences. In maths, the pupils have been learning about negative numbers. We have discussed when we use negative numbers and applied this knowledge to questions. In science, the pupils have been learning about sound.
Once again, it has been lovely to see them all playing at break and lunchtime. We are so happy to see them back again.
