Talking, Reading and Writing at Home

Hello everyone laugh

My name is Mrs Johnson and I am the Literacy Lead here in school. Parents often wonder how they can support their child with reading and writing at home; something that sounds so simple can in fact be a real challenge to put into practise and I know lots of grown-ups can struggle to engage reluctant readers and writers, whatever their age. You are not alone!

On this page I'll be adding tips and links to support reading and writing at home. There are also some links to great speaking and listening activities you could have a go at, too - good talk skills are vital to help our children become successful readers and writers. Don't forget that your child's class teacher will be able to provide you with more specific guidance on your child's individual needs, so please do get in touch if you need more information.
