This week in KS1 we have been introduced to our new focus text 'A Squash and a Squeeze' by Julia Donaldson.
We have posted a video of the story for you to share at home.
Maths
This week in our maths we have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties. We have worked on grouping shapes, naming and identifying them, describing them using the language of sides and vertices.
We have also been creating shape patterns and identifying the 'core' of the pattern.
Literacy
This week in literacy we have been looking at poetry. We started by reading A Squash and a Squeeze. We then looked at poems that rhymed and poems that didn't. We have read lots of poems this week including, Ning Nang Nong, Chocolate Cake and From a Railway Carriage. We are looking forward to writing some poems of our own.
In our grammar lesson we looked at how to turn a noun into a plural.

This week in our Foundation lessons, we have had a Design Technology focus. We have been learning about structures and how these are made strong and stable. We have been experimenting with different ways to construct a new home for the Old Lady in 'A Squash and Squeeze' using a variety of different resources.
