Some maths games to use to develop addition and subtraction at home

Some of our favourite phonic challenges

OUR LAST WEEK........

We have been working VERY hard this week.  We wrote our diaries using keywords and sounds to help us and discussed how hard we have worked in our writing and phonics this year.  In our maths we have been counting, adding and subtracting - honing our skills for year 1.  Our story this week is Charlie Cook's favourite book (see below) - this helped us to remember all of the wonderful characters that we have been learning about this year and discuss what we enjoyed most!  We even found out how to draw a pirate - the link is below!  We have been completing our dreamcatchers and also our very own fir cone bee.  This is a week of celebrations.... celebrating our hard work in class, looking at our floor books for all our amazing work!  We have also been celebrating our hard work in sharing, taking turns and looking after our friends!  What an amazing year.  We are bringing home our books to share with our families and hope that you all agree we are SUPERSTARS!!!!

Charlie Cook's Favourite Book - by Julia Donaldson. Children's story. Audiobook (read-aloud)

Curl up in a cosy chair and let Charlie Cook's Favourite Book become your favourite too! A glorious celebration of books and reading!
