A very busy week in Reception. In our learning walk this week we have been discussing with our group all the things that we could do to help Baby Bear get ready for the party and also help him celebrate. We have come up with lots of ideas such as: creating potions that help him fly to the moon, hot chocolate, strawberry cake and other cupcakes in the forest area and lots of sandcastles with wonderful decorations on them. We have been been building rockets, boats and pirate ship as presents for Baby Bear and then creating lots of stories, including adding a train to help us get to the forest! We have also talked about adding a dressing up bed and a new chair for his birthday! What amazing ideas and see some of the photos below.
In other news ........ we have been learning new sounds, number and also having a magical day. We are also celebrating Baby Bear's birthday!
Magical day adventures
A variety of activities to complete during the day..... pumpkin fine motor challenge, creating disgusting meals using cutting and sticking as well as in the forest area, magical printing, making sparkly potions, creating playdough pumpkins, small world wizard stories, button investigating, painting pumpkins and colouring.
We have also listened to Winnie The Witch which was very funny, especially when Wilbur was different colours! We have taken part in an active session of the spooky 5 a day as well as hearing 'Room on a broom'.
We even made our very own wands!
Look at our wands!
