Literacy
In this lesson you are going to write the opening to your newspaper report, using your notes from yesterday. You may use one of the headlines you thought of last week or write a new one when the lesson asks you to. Watch the Oak academy lesson below and remember to keep your work for the next lesson and also send it to firclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.
Guided Reading
Today you will be working from the same extract as yesterday. You will be making predictions on the text. Make sure that you answer in full sentences and can provide reasons to support your ideas.
The above lesson shows how to calculate the are of composite shapes, using what you already know. You can watch the lesson as many times as you like to help with your understanding. Once you have watched the video try completing the sheets below. You can re draw the shapes at home so you don't have to print off the worksheets.
There is a worksheet and a challenge worksheet. Please complete the first worksheet before you go onto the challenge - if you choose to accept the challenge! This way we know you understand calculating the area of composite shapes.

We have changed the spelling test day to a Tuesday. These are the spellings we gave you last week and you practised yesterday. Ask someone in your household to read the words out to you one at a time, then write the words down. The mark the spellings afterwards. We would love to know what your score is. Good luck!
