22.1.24

Our learning walk this week has focused on looking after Zog, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout in the wet and windy weather...... Our ideas were AMAZING:

  • creating an umbrella house sot hat Zog does not get wet, it had an area for Princess Pearl to stay in and decided to use the planks as umbrellas on the roof.
  • Creating a 'hot pool' in the sand to keep Zog warm
  • Making hot chocolate cake, fish and chips and HOT lemonade to keep them warm
  • Making a car for Zog and the flying doctors as it may be too windy to fly.

One group even adapted their design along the way - they wanted to build a round cave but then changed it to a hideout as it would be bigger and better, with two roofs and much warmer!

See our photos below - talk to us about our learning!

In other learning this week we are following instructions to make a penguin friend for Zog, discussing what ice feels like to share with Madame Dragon, learning some new diagraphs to help with our reading and writing and also finding one more and one less than numbers to 8!  There are details and links to support the consolidation of learning at home on the above home link document, if you require further information, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk

Making our penguins

Zog really enjoyed finding out about animals in cold climates so he investigated even further and found...... Penguins!  We read the story 'Lost and Found' and investigated the new words within the story such as missing and disappointed.  We then found some instructions which would help us make some penguin friends!  We followed the instructions VERY carefully and were proud of our creations.

Look at the wonderful things we have created for the characters this week.........
