Meet The Team

Our Pre-school

We are a friendly pre-school in the growing village of Manea set within the grounds of Manea Community Primary School.

Our experienced and qualified team provide rich, varied, stimulating, imaginative and cross curricular experiences for all the children whilst taking into account every child’s individual needs and ensuring that they feel happy and safe.

Before your child starts with us at Manea Pre-school we will invite you to an initial visit where we will introduce the team and you can ask any questions and see the pre-school in session.

Please note that we are a PVI setting and having a place at pre-school does not guarantee you a school place at Manea Community Primary School.

Welcome To Pre-School

The foundation stage –

A foundation to life long learning.

The building blocks for the future

Information about our Pre-school

We encourage our children to develop their independence through making their own choices and by allowing them to do things for themselves within our secure setting.

Each child is allocated a key person whose role it is to ensure that their children make the best possible progress during their time with us. They do this by making good observations that can be assessed and used to provide next steps that reflect their interests and abilities. The key person system also ensures that each child has somebody they can form a secure bond with thus, allowing them to settle quickly and feel safe.

We have a parents’ information board that is placed outside at pick up time which tells you what we have been doing in pre-school that day. We have an open door policy which enables parents to share information with the pre-school staff at all times.

Our setting includes a large room with many fun activities that the children can self-choose. We also have outdoor areas that the children can access throughout the session with the use of free flow play. All of the areas have learning activities set out that reflect our planning and give the children the opportunity to progress within the Early Years Foundation Stage while having fun.

Every month we have a ‘come & read’ session where each child’s family can come in with the children to read a variety of books. We also have craft mornings throughout the year where you can join your child in making a variety of things for example Christmas decorations.

Our leader, Mrs Lisa Stevens, as well as being the school's Early Years Leader and teaching the reception class, is the Deputy Head, KS1 leader, works as a moderator for the county and is an Early Years Lead Practitioner.

Our children are well prepared for starting school as we have very strong links with Manea Community Primary School. There is a wonderful transitional program in place. This includes time spent in the reception class, joint play times with the reception class and lots of visits from Mrs Stevens and Mrs Attrill (HLTA & Early Years Lead Practitioner). We also make good use of the school facilities throughout the year including the hall, playground and field.

In July, we celebrate with the children leaving pre-school by organising a wonderful ‘Graduation’ event which all family are invited to attend.
