The week of the coronation.........

This week we have used our phonic knowledge to write our diaries.  We have confidently used keywords too in order to create simple sentences.  We have been blending sounds in our phonic work and enjoyed singing our phonic and keyword songs.

In maths we have worked hard on developing our understanding of addition.  We have been supporting this work with number bonds to 5.

In other subjects we have focused on the coronation!  It is a very exciting time and we have been watching clips about our future king and then creating some wonderful artwork to celebrate.  We have been foraging for additions to a new stamp and also created a new crown using loose parts.  We have also created bunting using our pattern work knowledge.

Please see the home link document above for more detailed information and ways to support learning at home.

If you would like to speak to a teacher about your child, please email:

We wrote sentences to describe King Charles in our phonic work.  See some examples...

We all received a coin from the Parish Council to commemorate the event

We all dressed up in red, white and blue to celebrate the King's coronation.
