Today you are going to 'publish' your newspaper report. Focus on the layout, ensuring that the features of a newspaper report are all included within your report. Ideally we would like you to hand write the report in your neatest joined handwriting too. Attached is an example of what a newspaper report should look like, along with a template.

Guided Reading

All week you have been looking and exploring the Battle of Hastings text. Now it's time to answer some questions on it. Below are two different sets of questions: a medium set and a spicy set. Choose the set you would like to complete and send in your answers to firclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

Today you are going to be consolidating the learning from this week to solve problems. Make your way through the attached worksheet. The answers can be found at the end.

Oracy

Today I would like you to have a go at 'Rebuttal Tennis'. You will need a partner for this game, so hopefully someone will be happy to take part with you. You start off with a debate statement. One person needs to agree with the statement, the other needs to disagree. You will take it in turns to make each point and 'serve' your answer to your partner. Attached is a video of pupils demonstrating how to play. You can choose your debate topics if you wish, or there are a few examples below you can use.

- Human cloning should be legalised

- Homework should be banned

- All students should have after school jobs

- All children should go to boarding school.

Science

Today I would like you to read through the slides attached about the circulatory system. This will help you with your activity today, which is to make your own game about the circulatory system! It could be a game show, a board game... as long as you are including information about the circulatory system.

Attached are some resources which might be of help to you. This include:

- Challenge cards

- An information sheet

- A board game template

- A game plan

By the end of this lesson I would like you to know how to explain the function of the heart, lungs and blood vessels.
