Literacy:
This week we have started our Poetry unit. We have explored a range of poems and enjoyed sharing them aloud with our friends. We have focused on calligrams, which are poems written in the shape of what they are describing. We have used adjectives, similes and alliteration to make our writing more exciting. Next week, we will be moving on to writing our own riddles.
Maths:
In Beech class, we have started our fractions topic. We have looked at equal and unequal groups and have been finding half.
In Elm and Cherry class we have been grouping in 5's and 10's and have been recognising equal and unequal groups.
Topic:
We have been focusing on Computing this week and have been learning how to control a robot. We looked at how to give commands and the different functions and buttons on a BeeBot. We practised giving each other detailed instructions and using directional language, such as forwards, backwards, turn, left and right. We then programmed the BeeBot to complete its journey.
