Leek Hotpot



  • Read the story with your grown up
  • Create your own hotpot - write a list of what you want to put in it
  • Create an imaginary hot pot using available resources – collage, mud, sand.
  • Talk about the containers that you are using – use language of size and whether they need to be full or half full.  How many spoonfuls do you need?  Estimate how many spoonfuls will fill each container
  • Write some instructions – use the keywords put, the, and, in,  then use your sounds to help you complete each instruction
  • Talk about foods that are really healthy and other foods that you should not eat too much of.
  • Can you cook with your grown up?  What can you make?  What will you use?  How will it taste?
  • Create your own role play restaurant, make menus and see if your toys want to come!
  • Listen to the story ‘pumpkin soup’
