This week we are continuing with our sound exploration and finding out about some new sounds -a digraph and a TRIGRAPH! In Maths we are doubling and investigating what this involves. We are also finding out about Chinese New Year, then creating some decorations to celebrate. We are also focusing on sharing ideas with others - listening and taking turns in sharing information to try and solve challenges.
In our learning walk we have been continuing with using the trike track to tell stories. We have revisited the stories that we told last week and then beginning to create new stories:
We have had a story about a holiday - where Zog and his friends needed the taxis to take them but they had to be checked first to make sure they were safe.
A story about going to a waterpark, but all the transport broke down so they needed to use the mechanic dragon to help!
A space adventure when they met alien dragons and a story about Zog's birthday. The group that worked on Zog's birthday linked their story to the action and events in 'Zog and the flying doctors' and even had to look after a poorly dragon, writing a list to ask Princess Pearl for help! Throughout all the stories the children worked together carefully, listened to ideas and then organised the resources they needed to create the story.

Look at the wonderful work that we have created for Zog, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout
We have enjoyed the story 'Dragon Stew' this week and decided to create some stew instead of the Vikings eating dragons! During our creation of the stew we discussed and imagined what the different ingredients could be and why we would choose them. Do you think the Vikings will like it?`
dragon berries because dragon like berries!
dragon fruits because they are healthy
put in herbs for some taste
apples as I think they are the dragons favourite food
grapes to make it yummy
cauliflower and hot dogs!
What a delicious stew! I think that the Vikings will not want to find a dragon now!
