Week beginning 07.12.20

Hello everyone!

Not long to go now - we are quickly speeding towards the holidays, and Christmas has well and truly landed in Elm Class. The icy, freezing cold weather has certainly helped us get into the festive spirit and the children have loved exploring the outdoor environment this week.

In Literacy, we have reached the end of our work on 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' and finished the week by posting our own letters to Santa in the Elm Class postbox! I wonder if we will hear back from the big man next week? Fingers crossed!

In Maths, the Year 1 children have been recapping on their 2, 5 and 10 counts by counting out amounts of money using 2ps, 5ps and 10ps. The Year 2s have been continuing to work on their division skills, and even wrote some division word problems for Mrs Johnson to solve. They were tricky!

In the afternoons, we have continued with our Christmas crafts and this week linked the things we made to Forest School. We don't want to give anything away, but if you have a look at this week's photo reel you might get some sneaky clues as to what we've been making!

Have a super weekend everyone - we can't wait to see you all again on Monday.
