This week we have loved writing up our versions of the traditional tale, Hansel and Gretel. We wrote a first draft, thinking abut structuring our stories to show a clear beginning, middle and end. We then read through our work and checked for any editing that was needed. After that, we published our stories and created our own story books. We are so proud of how much our writing has improved this year!

In Beech class, we have been working on position and direction and have been following directions. We have plotted routes and used the language of Left, Right, Forwards, Backwards. We have also been describing full, half and quarter turns clockwise and anti-clockwise.

In Elm and Cherry class, we have been working on addition and subtraction word problems. We have needed to read the questions carefully and identify key words, before choosing the correct method.

This week, we completed our learning on Hospitals and Healthcare/ We have discussed the importance of Florence Nightingale and Edith Cavell and how their work has impacted hospitals today. We created timelines of healthcare developments and discussed the causes and consequences of their work.
