The Big Question: Should people always trust what they hear in the news?

Write down a list of the different ways the news can be reported.

Discuss what is, and has been, dominating the news at the moment. Discuss their thoughts on listening to the news i.e. do they listen to it often? How do they feel when they listen to it?

Think about the question: How do we know what is being reported on, true?

Explain that news reports and newspapers have a legal requirement to tell the truth and check that the facts of the news is true.
