English:
This week, we have completed our writing unit based on Hansel and Gretel. We planned our setting descriptions, thinking carefully about the introduction, description and a cliff-hanger ending. We have worked hard to use our plan to form detailed sentences and edit our work to make improvements.
Maths:
This week, Year 1 have been learning about money. We have identified coins and notes and have been thinking about how we can make different totals.
In Year 2, we have been completing statistics. We have been collecting data (like the colour of cars that drive past the school) in a tally chart and have used this to create our own bar charts.
Topic:
We have continued our science topic this week thinking about animals, including humans. We have learnt about the different food groups and the importance of a balanced diet, we even designed our own healthy meals. We have also looked at how germs spread and how good hygiene can reduce the spread of germs. Take a look at the glitter 'germs' that spread around our classrooms in the photos!
