P.S.H.E

Learning Objective: To know that medicines should only be handled by trusted adults. To know what to do in a range of situations involving medicine.

Starter: Have a look at the medicine boxes in front of you. Talk about what you see on the packet and what information is given.

Why is this information so important?

What happens if you ignore it?

Main task: Cut out the twelve scenario cards in front of you and place them face down on the table. Take it in turns to pick one up and read the scenario to your partner. Your partner should then tell you what to do and give reasons why.

Challenge: Come up with more than one solution and more than one reason why.

Challenge 2: Write your own scenario on your whiteboard and pick someone in the class to respond.

Main task 2: Complete the quick quiz on medicine safety. Mark your answers.

Plenary: If you had to give one piece of advice to someone about medicine, what would it be and why?
