This week was of course National Science Week, and so we had a lot of focus on that!
In English we looked the life and inventions of famous scientists, and wrote biographies on them. We've had a really big push on getting the basics right, and it feels like the children are starting to get there!
In maths we looked at conversion, especially metric to imperial. This actually caught me a bit off guard- they did it so well! We were essentially using scale factor and they all just got it straight away, which was lovely to see.
Our topic saw us look at classrooms of the future and the children produced some high quality adverts about what future schools might be like! We all had a lot of fun, and the videos can be found at the bottom of https://www.manea.cambs.sch.uk/science-week-2021-innovating-for-the-future/
And finally, we had the life bus in! The children were fantastic with their discussions about drugs, alcohol and responsibility, and clearly knew a lot about the human body already- it was reassuring to know that the children have been paying attention in Science lessons!
