This week we are continuing with our Big and Small focus work and investigating the story 'Goldilocks and the 3 bears'. We have looked at the different sized objects within the story and also the characters and settings. We have talked about our favourite parts of the story and also retold it in our movement work.
Our new letter sounds this week are g,o,c,k and again we are trying very hard to remember them. Please do not forget to consolidate this learning at home using the links on our home learning document above.
Our main learning this week has been to work with our friends to solve challenges. We have tried really hard to listen to the ideas of others and then work together to construct/make/complete tasks. All our adults are very proud of us!
Please see the home learning information above and if you have any questions, please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk
Our learning walk challenge this week was to create for Baby Bear..... lots of discussions then led the groups to what they would like to make:
hedgehogs chose to make a potion to make him whistle, golden meatballs and strawberry slushi, a square house for baby bear with a sofa and a TV with a fire to warm him up!
Robins chose to create a sand potion to make him better and also a rainbow picture, a sandtimer for his car and a flying car with wheels and wings.
Badgers worked together to create a rocket to go into space.
Squirrels then chose to make a pirate ship and a potion to make him better.
What wonderful ideas! See some of our work in the photographs below:
We have been working extra hard on our letter formation this week. We have been using the rhymes to match each letter and have been extremely proud of our efforts!
We have really enjoyed our story 'Goldilocks and the 3 bears' this week and used our hall session to retell the story. We thought very carefully about what happened in the story and used the sequence of events. We then talked about our favourite parts in the story:
We liked the bears eating the porridge and baby bear crying - we were able to make lots of different noises when we acted it out. We also liked the part when we had to try out the beds - pretending they were too hard and too soft was very funny. Our other part was when Mrs Attrill pretended to be the bears and we had to be Goldilocks and run away back to our houses.
We also enjoyed a special yoga session - it retold the story of the 3 bears whilst we worked hard on our yoga moves!
And finally.... We have completed some AMAZING work in our challenges this week! See the photos below.........
