Monday 15th June 2020

Hello Beech Class,

Well done for another excellent week of home learning!

Hello Beech Class- 15th June

Maths

This week I would like you to think about your shapes, this will help you with your artwork!

I would like you to have a look for some 2D shapes in your home. Can you name them? Can you count how many pointy vertices they have? Can you count how many sides they have? Do they have straight sides or curved sides?

When you have found some shapes I would like you to draw these shapes and see if you can use your phonics to name them!

Outside this week I would like you to have a go at creating different shapes with your body. How can you use your arms, legs and body to make yourself into different shapes?

Foundation

This week we are going to be looking at the Art work of Joan Miró. He was a Spanish Artist.

Have a look at this presentation about Joan Miró and his art work. Which paintings do you like?

I’d like to challenge you to create some of your own artwork. This means that you can get really creative! You could paint or draw. I would like you to try and use some interesting shapes in your art.

Next Sunday is Father's Day. This is a day to celebrate not only Fathers but anyone who is special to you and takes care of you.

You might like to create a little card to show them how important they are to you and how much you love them.
I liked this idea- but you could have a look for some other ideas too!

Literacy

Oh no! Have a look at this letter that we have received from the tricky words!

It looks like they got a bit bored of being in the classroom by themselves and have run away!

I really need you to have a look in your books at home to see if you can find them!

We need to hunt for the words; the, I, no, to and go.

Maybe if you do find them you could write them into some really interesting sentences- I think that might cheer them up a bit!

Keep up all of your hard work. I am so very proud of each and every one of you!

Take care,

Miss Pritchard
