Year 5 and 6 had the pleasure of taking part in a workshop all about food waste last week. The children learnt about the quantities of food that is thrown away after a Christmas meal. They were then shown a way that we could use the left overs to create a delicious snack. The other half of the workshop taught them what happens to our recycling and highlighted the importance of it.
What a fun and festive week for Year 1 and Year 2!
This week, our Year 1 and Year 2 children have been busy getting creative as they put together their enterprise products—and what a fantastic job they’ve done!
Year 1 have absolutely loved making their hot chocolate reindeer cones, filling them with cosy winter ingredients and sprinkling in plenty of festive cheer.
Year 2 have been equally busy (and just as excited!) creating their adorable reindeer and snowman jars carefully designing and decorating each one to make them extra special.
We can’t wait for you to see all of their amazing creations on Monday and we’re hoping to sell every single one to help raise lots of money for the school. Thank you for supporting our young entrepreneurs!
Eight of our Year 5 and 6 girls represented the school brilliantly at the Tag Rugby Festival held at Ely Rugby Club. Throughout the afternoon, the team showed determination, teamwork and a growing sense of confidence, securing three victories out of their eight games. Their enthusiasm never wavered, and they approached every match with a positive attitude and fantastic effort. At the end of the festival, each player proudly received a medal in recognition of their hard work and excellent sportsmanship. Well done, girls!
This week in Reception it was Night Time Day! Pop over to our page to see our adventures! We made cookies, lanterns and went on a nocturnal animal hunt.
On Monday all classes took part in a wonderful, paired reading session. Children from Key Stage 2 brought books to read and share with children from Pre-school - Year 2. Everyone had fun talking about their books and sharing their love of reading. We hope to have another paired reading session in the Spring term!
Our Year 5 and 6 girls had a fantastic morning at the football festival held at Witchford College! They played eight exciting games, winning two and drawing two, showing great determination throughout. Mr Lenton-Boon and Mrs Cross were incredibly impressed with the girls’ brilliant attitude, teamwork, and constant encouragement for one another. It was a wonderful morning of sport, smiles, and school spirit — well done, girls! 👏
Our Year 5 and 6 Boys’ Football Team played against Kingsfield, Chatteris this week and showed excellent teamwork and skill throughout the match, securing a brilliant win. We are incredibly proud of their determination, effort and positive attitude.

This week every class took part in an exciting golf workshop led by a PGA professional. The children learnt the fundamentals of the golf swing and had the chance to put their new skills into action. We even had some real superstars who managed to get hole-in-ones!
The children absolutely loved the experience – it was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, focus and teamwork throughout each session. Golf might just have some new future stars after this! ⛳️
The residential children are now due back at 3.30
Friday 17h October AM: The first full day must have worn the children out, because they all slept fabulously last night- and all were asleep around 10. They finished their day of activities with olympic activities and songs and riddles around the campfire. They enjoyed toasting marshmellows too.
Today they are completing their other activities, including taking part in nightline- a blindfolded obstacle course!
We are due back for the end of the school day- but will let the office know if we are any later. Please also bare in mind it does take a few minutes to get the children off the bus- we are likely to unload children into the hall, with their suitcases before asking parents to collect.
Thursday 16th October PM: Day two has been a busy one! So far today the children have already been firing arrows at archery, working as a team whilst climbing Jacob's ladder and using their problem solving skills whilst den building. They are looking forward to sitting around a camp fire this evening, and the adults are hoping for another good night's sleep.
Thursday 16th October AM Everybody had a great first night, and a good night's sleep. The children were up bright and early this morning (some earlier than others) ready for breakfast and eager to face today's activities.

Some of them have been building their own fires, whilst others have taken the leap of faith from the high ropes course. The children will now enjoy a scavenger hunt, followed then by putting their quizzing skills to the test.

We had an exciting day at school when The Skipping Ninja came to visit! The day began with a lively whole-school assembly where we were amazed by incredible skipping tricks and inspiring stories about perseverance and fitness. Afterwards, each year group enjoyed their own hands-on skipping workshop. Pupils learned new skills, from basic moves to impressive tricks, and everyone left buzzing with energy and enthusiasm. It was a fantastic way to promote fitness, fun, and teamwork across the school!
