English:
This week we have investigated nouns and have been writing lists and captions. We have used the Traction Man is Here book and have looked at the illustrations to make a list of the nouns we can see. We also built things like submarines, boats and castles for Traction Man, using Lego or blocks. We then wrote a caption to explain what we had built.
Maths:
This week we have continued our Number and Place Value topics. In Year 2, we have been using place value charts and have partitioned numbers up to 100. We have also practised writing numerals and drawing representations of Base 10. In Year 1, we have been looking at the place value of numbers up to 20. We have used tens frames to represent the given amounts and have been matching numerals to a word.
Topic:
Our topic this week is History and we are looking at how toys have changed over time. We have thought about some of our favourite toys now and what we enjoyed playing with as babies. We have also explored a variety of toys and pictures of toys and and have sorted them based on their properties.
