Maths:
This week in maths, Year 1 have been continuing with their work on addition and subtraction. The children have worked hard to create visual representations that match number sentences and have found number bonds to 10.
Year 2 have also been learning about addition and subtraction and have been adding ones to a number. They have also been thinking about different techniques to use when completing addition questions and have started to make 10 when adding on.
English:
In English this week, we have been continuing our work on the Place Value of Punctuation and Grammar. We have been identifying the verbs and subjects in a sentence and have started to find pronouns, we know that these can be used instead of repeating the subject.
Topic:
This week we finished our DT topic. We designed our own moving pictures using sliders and levers; there were lots of different designs, from cars to Peppa Pig! We then created our own moving pictures and thought about what went well and what we would try to improve next time.
Magical Manea Day!
On Thursday, we had our Magical Manea Day. We made Dragon Food in maths and used our capacity skills to follow recipes. In English, we described dragons and then wrote our own poems. We had a very creative afternoon making textured pictures of different magical creatures and following a tutorial to draw a sea serpent.
