This week, Year 1 have had a busy and exciting week of learning! In Maths, we began exploring arrays using peg boards, helping us understand rows and columns in a fun, hands-on way. Year 2 have continued working on fractions and this week have been focussing on recognising and finding quarters and thirds. We made some lovely shapes to help us recognise these types of fractions.
In English, the children finished their fantastic shape poems—it was wonderful to see such creativity and a wide range of objects used for inspiration. Please take a look at the photos to see their brilliant work. We are looking forward to our next unit of work beginning next week.
In Science, we started learning about the parts of a flower and how each part helps protect or support the plant. The highlight was planting our very own plants! Meanwhile, in History, we continued to build on our knowledge of the Great Fire of London, ready to link this learning to our upcoming English unit next week.
