READING

Please read the following information text on bats.

R.E.

To reflect upon and respond to a current social issue.

Look at these pictures and make notes on the things that come into your mind.

The first picture shows someone who is homeless. To be homeless means to have nowhere safe that you are able to call home. There are lots of reasons that a person could become homeless.

The second picture shows refugees. You may have heard about refugees in the news recently. A refugee is a person who is seeking a safe haven (place) after being forced to leave their home. This could be because of violence or war or because they are not allowed to follow their religion.

The final picture shows a child of war.

How do these pictures make you feel?

How do you think the people in the pictures are feeling?

Draw a speech bubble for each picture. What do you think these people would say?
