Thursday 11th

Phonics

This week we have been looking at the ear sound. Remind yourself by reading these words.

Dictated sentences: Ask an adult to read these sentences to you. See if you can write them down, working hard to spell the ear words correctly.

It has been hot this year.

I can hear an owl hoot at night.

What year is it this year?

The glass is clear and dry.

Can you write your own sentences containing 'ear' words?

Guided reading:

Here are some pictures take from the text "Forest Sports Day". What do you think is going to happen in the text? Have a go at telling the story using the pictures.

Literacy:

We can extend our sentences with conjunctions such as and and because.

Practice using because by joining these clauses together.

Can you write an explanation of how to use The AutoChef machine? Make sure you use 'and' and 'because' to extend your sentences.
