Literacy

To warm you up, practise your phonics. Can you label this picture using your sounds?

These children have had to leave their parents during the War, and have moved in with somebody they don't know in the country to stay safe. How do you think they would be feeling? Write a sentence to describe their feelings. Can you use the word because?

Maths

To warm you up, practise your counting. Ask an adult to make a certain amount of noises. Can you count how many there were? Use this to practise your counting to 30 and beyond.

Then have a go at counting in tens. Here is a video to help. Try the sheet below.

Counting By Tens Song

Guided reading

This week we are going to be reading a text which is about Christmas.  Before we read anything, we need to activate our prior knowledge. What does Christmas mean to you? Does everyone have the same Christmas traditions? Talk to somebody else on the phone and find out their Christmas traditions.

Draw a picture of what Christmas means to you and write down vocabulary you link with this time of year.
