Hello Beech Class,

I hope that you have all had a lovely half term break.

Foundation

Over the next few weeks we will be learning about life in Kenya. I would like you to have a look at the presentation and the video below. From this you will learn where Kenya is and some important information about it.

Short Stories for Kids - Trip to Kenya

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Have a look at this video showing some of the animals in Kenya.

Nairobi National Park, Kenya in 4K Ultra HD

Nairobi National Park is located less than 10 kilometers from the center of Kenya's capital - Nairobi, and you can see animals, with the city tall buildings ...

Can you tell your grown-up three things that you have learnt about Kenya?

Can you draw some pictures and add some labels to record the things that you have learnt?

One of your friends had a super idea of creating a chalked obstacle course outside their home for their neighbours to enjoy. I thought this was a really fun idea and a great way to keep people active! Maybe you could have a go yourself, could you post a note through a neighbour’s door to invite them to have a go?

Have a look at Miss Bridges’ page about the ducklings. Can you use books or the internet to research ducklings?

Literacy

We are learning about a new place, but I think that lots of people would love to learn about where we live!

What makes Manea such a special place to live? Can you draw a picture of your very favourite thing in Manea? Can you add some captions or labels to tell people what this is and what is so special about it? Make sure you use all of your super phonics skills to help with your writing!

I’m excited to see what your favourite thing in Manea is!

Maths

This week I would like you to think about finding half of shapes or objects. Do you remember when we found half of a cupcake at school?

What can you find that you can cut in half? Paper? Pizza? Sandwich?

Could you explore drawing a line or using a stick to show half of something?

Could you find half of a patio tile? A ball?

Can you half fill a cup or a jug with water?

Remember what we said about half, both the pieces need to be the same size.

Keep up all of your hard work Superstars!

Take care,

Miss Pritchard
