This week we are developing our knowledge of the world around us.  Zog has been travelling around the world to help other animals with Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout.  They have been to see some Polar Bears called Iris and Isaac.  We have enjoyed the story and then explored some of the vocabulary within it when we created our own nests in our forest school session.  We have been continuing with our work on phonic and keywords in our diary writing and our guided sessions of reading and writing.  We are very proud of our hard work so far.  In maths we are developing our awareness of subitising and counting.  We have also been drawing our own representations of polar bears in our drawing club session.  Please see the home link document above that will consolidate learning at home and if you require any further information. please email Mrs Stevens on pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

In our learning walk this week we have been developing our working together focus.  Ensuring that we are listening and sharing ideas with our friends.  Our focus has been on helping Zog and the flying doctors.... Look at some of our ideas below:

Iris and Isaac by Catherine Rayner | Read Aloud Children's Stories

Come read a story about two polar bears who are not friends anymore. Can Iris and Isaac live without each other. Let's find out together. Iris and Isaac by author Catherine Rayner is available on Amazon here: http://fave.co/2tmOPVR

In our forest school session we had to show Zog how to help the two polar bears in the story.  We decided to create a nest in our block area, but as they are not usually very comfortable..... we had to see what we could use to make them so!  It was very tricky but we worked and discussed together to solve the problem.  See our photographs below

Look at some of our other work during our challenges this week....
