This week we have made a discovery! A nest has been created in our outdoor area and we need to find out by whom! We are using our learning walk to investigated and discuss ideas using the clues that we find. Have a look at our investigations below and who we thought the nest creator might be..............
Lots of ideas were discussed including an eagle, wolf, dinosaur, baby chicks, birds, the robin and even a magical creature....... Mrs Stevens then read us the story that had been left...... It was Zog! Definitely a magical creature.
In other learning we are writing our diaries about our Christmas events, using our sound and keyword knowledge to help us. We have to work hard ensuring that we are forming all our letters correctly. We are developing our counting skills in our maths work and also taking a very difficult challenge. To learn to draw something very tricky - all will be revealed later this week.

Once we found out that it was Zog who had visited our outdoor area and created the nest we found out how to draw our very own dragons!
We then decided to make Zog a new home which would be more comfortable than a nest! We worked in our groups to talk about our ideas and listen to our friends!
Our next challenge was in our forest school session where we had to hunt for any clues that Zog may have left when he came and visited us...... There were loads:
- he scratched the bench with his claws
- he burned the tree
- there were big foot prints with holes in them from his claws
- he had bitten the acorn
- the tree was burnt as he was practicing his breaching fire like in the book we read
- he made a hole with his foot
- he left a claw print where he landed
- there was a burnt nut that he had been eating
- he had scratched the tyre with his long nails
