Wow! What a fun and busy week year 1 and 2 have had.
We were very grateful to be able to have Tilly the fire pump come into school on Tuesday afternoon for the children to look at and ask some questions as a lovely way to finish off their learning about the Great Fire of London. It was wonderful for the children to be able to see the fire pump up close and looking at the finer details. The children were then able to compare the fire equipment resources from the past to the ones used today to help people. Please take a look at some of the amazing photos we were able to capture of this.
On Wednesday, the children had their DT Day of the unit preparing fruit and vegetables. They were able to use their maths skills to group and organise the fruits into different categories. They used their writing skills to create lists of the fruits they liked and disliked whilst adding lots of adjectives to help describe their reasoning. The children were then able to design their own smoothie and add the ingredients they would like from their morning session of tasting. At the end of the day, the children were able to taste some smoothies! Please take a look at our great day.
