In our learning walk this week we have focused on the skills of oracy and working together. We have come up with ways to explore and develop our learning using the texts that we have been investigating and have worked with our friends to solve any problems that arose.  We have enjoyed exploring Poppledown Town and all the characters within this story and Zog.  Look at some of our work below:

In other learning this week we have been set some challenges to complete - one is related to reading short sentences using our digraphs and trigraphs - then matching to the correct picture.  We also had a maths challenge - to explore odd and even numbers using our doubling knowledge.  We have also been using Jack and the Beanstalk to develop our drawing club skills and have explored small equipment further in our PD sessions.  Please see the home link document above with more detail and if you require further information, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

As part of our work on keeping safe we have looked at creating our own risk assessments for our outdoor area.  We complete safety spies checklists each morning so wanted to look at the bigger area to see what we needed to do to keep safe...... some examples were:

pick up rubbish to look after the animals as they might eat it

don't climb trees unless an adult is next to you

if something is broken then you need to have it fixed or removed before you work there

don't use the bridge if it is slippery as you might fall

look out for animal mess - never touch it!

don't put your fingers in your mouth when outside as you will have touched germs!

make sure that the gates are shut

look out for holes as we will fall over them!

never touch or eat the bird berries that fall

make sure that you walk so that you do not fall over

See some of the things that we identified as needing a risk/safety check - we are amazing spotters!

Look at some of the wonderful work we have completed in our challenge time......
