Our learning walk this week has been very in depth!  We have been discussing the new story that is our focus - 'the treasure hunt' and how reading supports our learning.  Lots of discussions took place and there were even links made between different books such as 'a maze with treasure at the end!'  Have a look at our discussions and work in the photos below.

This week we are extremely busy! We have been set two main challenges from Percy, one to help him sew a new blanket as the animals have put holes in his one!  He has also told us that the ducks have settled back in very well but now we need to help them keep them healthy - can we find out ways that they can do this?

We are also investigating the musical instruments and finding which instruments are best to play quietly to help the ducks go to sleep!

In literacy we are focusing on helping Percy write a list of his helpful things.  He has collected lots of interesting objects that he feels will be helpful in his workshop!

In maths we are investigating shapes.  We are also continuing with our counting and ordering skills and developing our positional language!

We are also developing our forest school skills in keeping safe when we start to create our dreamcatchers.

What a busy week!

A musical investigation.

Percy asked for our help..... could we find out some instruments that could be played quietly so that he could help the ducks go to sleep.  We investigated lots of our instruments and then played them.... we played loudly and quietly then decided which would be best for Percy.  We hope they work!

Percy's challenge of keeping healthy made us think very carefully about how we keep healthy - the music will help the ducks sleep which keeps them healthy - but what else?  We then talked about exercise, eating and drinking.  We know that fruit keeps us healthy so made some delicious fruit kebabs..... we used apple, orange and banana.  It was a very healthy treat!

We then helped Percy with his 'helpful things box'.  We looked at the different objects that were in it and then created a list so that he would know what could be useful for his inventions.......

And finally this week.... Look at some of the things we have made for Percy and the animals....
