3.3.25

In our learning walk this week we have discussed the story 'When the Dragons Came.  We had to think of ways to improve Poppledown Town or help with the dragons!  We came up with lots of ideas and really enjoying relating the story to our activities and learning areas in our outside classroom.  Have a look at the wonderful ideas below:

In other learning this week we are finding out different ways of making 7 - this has been through a variety of games - ask us what we have found out!  We are also using our sound and keyword knowledge to write about the things that were found in Poppledown Town and have really enjoyed our reading books this week.  We have also been creating our own towns and villages with all the things that we would like in them!  What would you put in your town?

Please see the home link document above with some activities that will consolidate learning at home.  If you have any further questions, please email pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk.

World Book Day

We have really enjoyed the day, we dressed up and looked amazing.  We then had a visit from the Author of 'Dragon Stew' - Mr Steve Smallman.  He read us another story about the vikings and then drew us an amazing picture with characters that we chose.  We then took part in various story activities in the classroom.

As part of our book day challenges we had to decorate our classroom door.  We were sent a book to read and then design the door.  Our story was 'The Leaf Thief'.  All about a squirrel who didn't know about the seasons and thought that someone was stealing all the leaves!  We decided to help teach him all about Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter so created our door to help him.

When Steve Smallman came to our school he then went around the classrooms and chose a winner for the best decorated door........... WE WON!  We were very proud!
