Spring Weekly News

Week 4: w/c 27th January 2025

In Computing, the children had great fun designing and creating their own name badges. They explored different styles showcasing their creativity and technical skills.

In RE, our students delved into the fascinating topic of life after death. They compared and contrasted different religious and cultural beliefs, deepening their understanding of diverse perspectives.

A huge congratulations to some of our Year 5/6 footballers, who took part in a football tournament this week. We are incredibly proud to share that Manea Community Primary School came first! The team played fantastically together, showing brilliant teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Well done to everyone involved!

We look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead!

Week 3: w/c 20th January 2025

We started this week, with a fantastic DT lesson- where we made our own Tortillas. The children loved trying them with a range of dips too. In English, we've been looking at a Science lab setting- and have been writing our own sentences using relative clauses.

Week 2: w/c 13th January 2025

In reading this week, we started a new text- "Oh Maya Gods". We explored Vesper's character, and enjoyed acting out a football scene using our retrieval skills.

Within our English lessons, we have also started our new unit- "Characterising speech". We started this by looking for key features within our model texts. The children have made it clear that they would prefer to look at 'horror' or 'crime' texts within their work.
