This week, our Year 5 and 6 students participated in a thrilling hockey tournament and we couldn’t be prouder of their performance. The children displayed exceptional teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event, truly representing the spirit of our school.
Each player worked hard on the field, supporting one another and showing fantastic communication and collaboration. The team spirit was evident from start to finish with students encouraging their teammates and demonstrating respect for the game. Their commitment and positive attitude were outstanding, making us all proud to see how they represented the school.
A big congratulations to all the players involved – you should be incredibly proud of how you performed and the way you carried yourselves. Well done, Year 5/6! Your teamwork was a true testament to the strength and values of our school community.
Week 4- W/B 17th March 2025
We have had a very busy week this week, with half of the children participating in Bikeability.
On Monday, the children completed lots of safety checks and practiced riding safely on the playground.
The children then applied their skills on the roads around Manea, and learnt how to deal with traffic safely.
Week 3- W/B 10th March 2025
Our Year 5 and 6 students have been hard at work and showcasing their fantastic progress in both maths and art!
In maths, Year 5 have been diving into the world of graphs and charts, and they’ve demonstrated a brilliant understanding of how to collect, analyse, and represent data. Their enthusiasm and skill with these concepts have been impressive, and they are already making connections with real-world applications.
Meanwhile, Year 6 has just wrapped up their algebra unit, mastering the foundations of equations and problem-solving. They are now transitioning into learning about converting units of measurement. It’s exciting to see them confidently apply their new skills to different types of problems!
In Art, both Year 5 and 6 students have started their creative journey by designing the backgrounds for their self-portraits. They've chosen elements that represent their personal interests and passions, which will serve as the perfect backdrop for their portraits that will soon be added. It’s wonderful to see how much thought and care they’ve put into making their artwork unique and reflective of who they are.
World Book Day
We had a great day dressing up for World Book day on Thursday!
We started the day by reading a range of picture books and sharing our thoughts!
We were fortunate enough to have the author Steve Smallman visit us. He read some of his stories to us, and created a piece of artwork based around some of our own ideas.
In English, we made our own books based on the titles of some of Steve Smallman's books.
We also had a lot of fun creating our book themed classroom doors. The children were amazing at coming up with the ideas for their doors, and really worked well as team to bring their ideas to life!
