English:
This week we have been celebrating poetry. We started the week with a visit from author C.S Clifford, which we all thoroughly enjoyed! He shared some of his favourite stories and we all created pieces of art based on these.
We then spent time looking at rhyming poetry. We began by finding and collecting rhyming words and then composed our own poems. We also performed these to the class.
Maths:
In Year 1 we have been looking at the inverse and have looked at addition and subtraction number sentences. We have also used part-whole models.
In Year 2, we have finished our multiplication and division topic and have focussed on the 5x tables. We are getting super speedy with them now!
Topic:
This week we have compared Jewish and Christian wedding ceremonies as part of RE. We have also been thinking about ways of keeping our bodies healthy and the different foods we like and dislike.
