English:
This week we finished our Recount Letter Writing unit. We wrote as the character Rapunzel and detailed our escape away from the witch. We remember to include the address, date, greeting and sign off. Some of us even included rhetorical questions! We published our letters in our best handwriting and were very proud of all of our hard work.
Maths:
Year 1 began the week by looking of doubles and near doubles of numbers up to 10. They then moved on to subtracting ones, using their number bond knowledge and have practised counting backwards.
Year 2 have also looked at doubling and halving numbers and have also identified odd and even numbers. They then moved on to the 10 times tables and have completed multiplication and division fact families.
Topic:
We completed our Art block unit this week and enjoyed showcasing all of our sketch book work with our friends. We thought of the different ways we had been succesful in our final piece and also thought of how we could improve our work if we were to complete the task again.
We then moved onto our PHSE unit, which is all about staying healthy. We have thought of different ways to keep our bodies healthy, including eating a variety of foods; having a good night's sleep; keeping clean and getting regular exercise.
