Another busy week in Reception. We have been continuing our diaries this week with using the keyword 'I'. We have created sentences verbally before focusing on the sounds we need to write in our books. We have also been VERY careful with our formation. We have been reading 'Bear Snores on' and have then used our forest school session to 'pop white corn'. We have also started to discuss night and day, looking at activities that are carried out in the night and in the day, moving towards looking at animals that come out in the night. Our Learning Walk this week was all about Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. It was a rainy day so we decided to create lots of things to cheer them up! Have a look at our work below.
We have enjoyed reading Bear Snores on and adding sounds effects. In the story the mouse popped white corn so we decided to make our own.... We were very careful around the fire and listened hard for the popping. We then ate our own popcorn! What a fabulous adventure.... we then discussed the differences that we noticed when it turned from a kernel to a fluffy popcorn!
